Another coming of age story. A teenage girl grows up in a wealthy Catholic family, goes through the normal process of disillusionment, and starts to grow up.
Interesting, although this girl's coming of age doesn't exactly have much to do with my own. It's hard for me to sympathize with a rich family losing their money, especially when their poor state doesn't sound so poor, and it looks like they splurged all the way down.
To its credit, this book wasn't really about the money. But there was so much unexplored- Dad's alcoholism, loss of faith, mother's lying, the siblings, etc- that ti was like every aspect of life was touched on. Hard to figure out exactly what this book was about, other than snapshots. But as snapshots, weird and interesting.
