Synopsis: Harry Dresden is a professional wizard—and he’s for real. Just as he begins to search for a woman’s missing husband, his police officer friend, Murphy, calls him in to help on a “special case”: people’s hearts have been magically ripped out of their chests, an extraordinary feat for any wizard. As he investigates, Harry realizes how deep he’s gotten himself stuck in this case—he may be next on the killer’s list.

This is one hell of a first novel. Jim Butcher is an extraordinary writer, and I'm sure he's going to be huge. The main character is so likeable; it's like he's a friend of mine. I'm recommending this series to anyone who will listen!

Finally finished this book... took almost 2 weeks, which is very rare for me. A very good plot, good characters, but it was just very slow going, not sure why.

Why do I even try to read horror? I never seem to like the story at all and this book was no exception.

"Give me what I want and I will go away..."

It took a little getting used to, but I really enjoyed this book. Once you got accustomed to the screenplay writing, it flowed like a movie, without noticing it was written that way. Little Tall Island is back, and there's a storm coming.

Very good book, the first King I've read lately that I finished. Recommended.

I am a big fan of Brian Keene's work, and enjoyed this book. Not my favorite, though, that would have to be Terminal.

A quick read about a group of boys and a monster.

Loved it from start to finish. The tale of a lonely girl lost in the woods, its heartwarming but yet heartbreaking at the same time. So well written I just couldn't put it down, it chronicles Trisha's journey as she gets lost after wandering away from her mother and brothers squabbling in the middle of a forest, somehow she loses sight of the track and while trying to find her way back only ends up getting further and further away from civilisation. Accompanying her on her travels is her walkman tuned in to the radio station broadcasting red sox games featuring her hero Tom Gordon, which is the only thing holding her belief that civilisation could be close by.

I would really recommend it for fans of stephen king and those who aren't so much as it is not really his usual style of novel.
Read it and enjoy!!

I guess I'm more into suspense than I am more graphic horror.
