This book made me cry at the end. Only one that did, incredible insight into relationships.

The Harry Potter book where the plot really starts to thicken for the series. One of my favorites.

Okay the first time I picked up this book it was in 4th grade, and I'm not in 12th so it's a bit fuzzy. I did enjoy it enough to continue to read them all, I was instantly hooked. Though now that I think about it, as I grew up so did the books, this book almost seems childish compared to the ones now. They are still captivating and a really good read.

The beginning of the very best series in existence. I thought it was about golf when my mom forced it on me. I was eight. Now just thinking about the start of my long love affair with these books makes me tear up. *sob*

Wow. The conclusion of the Harry Potter series shows how much planning went into every book. All seven books really came together in an extremely exciting and passionate conclusion. It sometimes bordered on trite, but avoided it mainly out of staying true to the theme of the entire series. I loved it and am looking forward to listening to the audiobook version.

'August 2007'

entry by...jennibug23     updated...Aug 24, '07     spoilers...n/a

August 2007 - the best Potter book, by far. I listened to all the books on CD to prepare. It was worth it. This book was great, if only kind of predictable. I'm glad I didn't hear any spoilers before I read it.

'Deathly Hallows Review'

entry by...bonbons     updated...Oct 20, '07     spoilers...n/a

I think this book was done really well. For me it had a tightly woven plot, answered all the questions that arose throughout the series and the change of... lets say scenario (I don't want to give anything away for those who wish to read it, although it seems that everyone else wants to so maybe there isn't a point for me to) stopped it from being stale. The only problem was the ending. The real ending was perfect. A good fight scene followed by a clean cut ending that was very final, but then Rowling had to do the "several years in the future bit" which is alright in some cases when done properly but she didn't do it well. It was pretty much just confirming what was in my mind an obvious conclusion and not explaining about anything else. A waste of paper if you ask me. Can't people use their imaginations and be happy with just speculating what may have happened? Would be more tantalising in my opinion.

Other then that the book was great and I have to confess that I am very impressed and surprised with Rowling's talent

'The end of Harry Potter Series.'

entry by...thefrogqueen     updated...Aug 28, '07     spoilers...major

okay so what did I think of this book... Well I finished it last night Aug 26th/07 and I read it over the course of about 2 weeks. I was very eager to keep reading it the entire time, unfortunately life happens. I liked that Snape was actually on Dumbledore's side the whole time. I liked that Dumbledore was seen with flaws. I thought some of the "we aparate, and where ever we end up there are Death Eaters" conflict happened WAY too much to the point of after the first two times I knew they were going to run into trouble.

I liked the 19 years in the future at the end. I thought it was weird the Ron and Hermione got married and had kids. Kinda hard to picture Hermione grown up and being pregnant. Over all it was a pretty satisfactory ending. i enjoyed reading it, is the main thing.

I was one of the first to indulge in this book, bought at midnight hehe had fun at the little borders party. Anyway, I was surprised at how something that started when I was oh so young could still hold emotional power over me. Yeah I cryed, I'm not a person to cry much but I did. This series was very well thought out and planned. If it wasn't, well a beautiful mistake it turned out to be. I loved it!

I was a little dissappointed with the ending. Don't eat me up. I'm just saying. I understand Rowling's situation though. How do you end such a terrific series?

It was so sad to know that this was the last HP book! Parts of it dragged for a bit (when they were in hiding). But the Hogwart's Battle was fabulous!!! I cried at the end! I don't think JK Rowling will be able to stay away from these characters forever.

'The Chamber of Secrets'

entry by...Retrogirl     updated...Dec 14, '06     spoilers...none

great follow-up to The Sorcerer's Stone; but not one of my favorite harry potter books.

"Of course I know about the Chamber of Secrets. In my day, they told us it was a legend, that it did not exsit. But this was a lie. In my fifth year, the Chamber was opened and the monster attacked several students, finally killing one. I cought the person who opened the Chamber and he was expelled. But the Headmaster, Professor Dibbet, ashamed that such a thing happened at Hogwarts, forbade me to tell the truth. A story was given that the girl died in a freak accident. They gave me a nice shiny, engraved trophy for my trouble and warned me to keep my mouth shut. But I knew it would happen again. The monster lived on, and the one who had the power to release it was not imprisoned.

Another fun Harry Potter book, although probably my least favorite of the series. The audiobooks are great.
