OH MY GOD
Enough answers; a loophole that, although justifiable, I resent; an epilogue I resent all the more. But, to appropriate that disgusting adage, I am sad because it's over but happy that it happened. Massive love.

I am currently reading Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
J.K. Rowling
Fantasy
759 pages
Begun a decade ago and encompassing six shelf-bending novels, the seventh and concluding volume of the international literary phenomenon that is the Harry Potter saga comes to a bombshell-packed -- and oh so satisfying -- conclusion in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, arguably the most wildly anticipated release in modern publishing history.
As the novel begins, Harry, Ron and Hermione are on the run from Lord Voldemort, whose minions of Death Eaters have not only taken control of the Minister of Magic but have begun to systematically -- and forcibly -- change the entire culture of the magic community: Muggle-born wizards, for example, are being rounded up and questioned, and all "blood traitors" are being imprisoned. But as Voldemort and his followers ruthlessly pursue the fugitive with the lightning bolt scar on his forehead, Potter finally uncovers the jaw-dropping truth of his existence....
Undoubtedly Rowling's crowning literary achievement, this triumphant final installment not only answers any and all questions surrounding integral characters like Albus Dumbledore, Voldemort, Severus Snape, Neville Longbottom, and Draco Malfoy but also brilliantly deals with some decidedly adult themes -- mortality, faith, duty, honor, etc. -- with a lyrical simplicity that will touch the hearts of readers of all ages. ("Do not pity the dead...pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.") Rowling definitely saved the best for last in this saga; HP7 will exceed the expectations of even the most demanding Harry Potter fan -- a towering, transcendent end to an equally towering and transcendent series.

My second favourite after Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows! So awesome, especially the scene in the Department of Mysteries where Harry, Professor D. and Tom get into a fight. Best scene EVER!

About three things I was absolutely positive
First, Edward was a vampire
Second, there was a part of him-and I didn't know how dominant that part may be-that thirsted for my blood
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

I ended up reading all of the books in this series. It was entertaining and fun, although got pretty dark for a kids book (albeit older kids)

This book transcended you in another world that the love is intoxicating that you release yourself from it. Stephanie Meyer demonstrated that in a complex world of vampire living and human and a vampire can come together and love each other despite of the challenges they face each day. This book is a lesson that as human being we should try and raise above our challenges and love despite of what they are.

I have been wanting to get back into reading for quite some time now, but I've read and re-read all the books I own and my best ones are missing *Aaron, I'm looking at you* ...anywho, my mom got me Twilight for my birthday. Which I did want to read...pretty much anything that has so many fangirls/boys makes me wonder why it's so appealing. So I started it and was hooked within the first chapter. It's definitely a girl book...the romance between Edward and Bella is incredibly sweet, I thought. There were many times I literally smiled and "aww'ed" while I was reading. It's the first in a series, so naturally it's more of an introductory book. You get to know the characters and there's still enough going on to keep it interesting.
I was disappointed in the movie though. I watched it after reading the book, I had no desire to before...but the book is good, so I thought the movie would be too. Although, when I read it kind of plays in my head like a movie anyway, so there's no real need to see a made movie. They're never as good anyway. But, like I said, I was disappointed with it...the characters seem so shallow in the movie, since they can't go into the depth of the book. I didn't like how they rearranged things that happened and there were so many good parts in the book between Edward and Bella that they could have put in, and some parts they did put in they reworded and made them 1,000 times less sweet. I shouldn't have expected much after reading the book, movies always pale in comparison to the books that they are made after. What I did like about the movie over the book was the fact that Bella seems to comprehend a tad bit better in the movie that Edward is dangerous and can easily kill her. In the book she just seems to completely overlook that. Also I hated the hospital scene in the movie. It was so much better in the book. The only scene in the movie that made me go "aww" was the very end when they were dancing under the gazebo. I went "awww" at least 5 times in each chapter with the book.

'Kids in Gardens'
entry by...forbesbc updated...Aug 31, '08 spoilers...n/a
Pollan writes about the relationships people have with nature through the gardens they design. His grandfather had a fantastic vegetable garden with colorful tomatoes and green peppers. He placed everything in rows and used chemicals as well. Pollan's father didn't have a substantial garden. In fact, much of his father's landscaping was neglected. So, when Pollan dives into a new house in New England, he goes at it with all of his heart. Finding the best tree to plant and gardening techniques, Pollan writes a detailed vision of his garden that explains how we can better relate with nature.

Okay the first time I picked up this book it was in 4th grade, and I'm not in 12th so it's a bit fuzzy. I did enjoy it enough to continue to read them all, I was instantly hooked. Though now that I think about it, as I grew up so did the books, this book almost seems childish compared to the ones now. They are still captivating and a really good read.

The beginning of the very best series in existence. I thought it was about golf when my mom forced it on me. I was eight. Now just thinking about the start of my long love affair with these books makes me tear up. *sob*

For some reason this is my favorite of the whole Hitchhikers series. Once again, science fiction and British humor combine to make a terrific tale that is both off-the-wall and entertaining.

'Don't think too hard'
entry by...slowtostart updated...Jan 03, '07 spoilers...none
Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. The movie was a let down but i expected that. This book is one of those that no matter what the film adaptation, everyone will be unhappy with something because there is no substitute for their own imaginings of the story. I had so much fun reading this, which was refreshing and great because I normally don't enjoy fantasy/scifi stuff.
This will be one of those books I give to people in 20 years time just to see the look of scepticism on their face at such an old book and then to see their pure enjoyment by the time they hit chapter two. This really is a timeless wonder I think and one that you absolutely cannot judge by it's cover (or its fans - they're too varied).

It is a short and interesting read. I thought I will not enjoy the book but I was wrong. The cocky humor and interesting sci-fi aspects of the book captivated me. I have gone on to read the rest of the books in the series. Various entries in the book, Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, are referred to many times in the story. They are so funny. I found myself waiting for it to be mentioned.
The book is a quick, unique and captivating read.
