Beautifully crafted with deft, poetic writing. May be too flowery for some, but The Hours is absolutely gorgeous. Cunningham uses both Virginia Woolf as a character as well as some of her characteristic "stream-of-consciousness" writing in a book chock-full of symbolism. A must for Woolf fans, this book won the 1999 Pulitzer for fiction.
