I LOVE this book. The pictures painted in the story by the main character are so vivid, I can actually form an image of the setting in my mind. I love when books do that. I also love the fact that Francie is such a well-created character and I can easily relate to her. She reminds me of myself in so many ways. Like her, I have always loved books, have always loved to write, and always enjoy observing the world around me. This is truly a masterpiece in my mind. One of my favorites.

Of Course - this story is a classic and a wonderful coming-of-age story that takes place in Brooklyn during the early 1900’s. This book was written the year I was born and, although it took place during a different period, it brought back nostalgic memories of my own childhood. This is a book that everyone should read.
